Mrs. Emilie Marie Kilpatrick Nipper, 91, a longtime resident of Lecompte before moving to Baton Rouge in 2012, died September 23, 2014, at her apartment at The Haven at Windermere, Baton Rouge.

Born July 2, 1923, in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, she graduated from Haynesville High School. She attended Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas, where she met and later married Weldon A. "Bo" Nipper. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana Tech in Home Economics and taught in public schools in Calcasieu and Rapides Parishes. Growing flowers was one of her favorite hobbies, and she was active in the Lecompte and Louisiana Garden Club Federations. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Lecompte and loved the Lord along with her fellow church members.

Survivors include two sons, W. Allen Nipper and wife Ginny of Addis, and Steven G. Nipper and wife Peggy of West Monroe; two daughters, Belinda K. Dumas of Baton Rouge, and Nancy C. Dreher and husband Andy of St. Francisville. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Emilie Nipper, William Nipper, Weldon Nipper, Allison Dumas, Chad Dumas, Andrew Dreher, Daniel Dreher, Caroline D. McKnight, Madeline Dreher, and Matthew Nipper and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Bill Kilpatrick and Jim Kilpatrick, both of Covington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon A. "Bo" Nipper; father, Dayton Kilpatrick; mother, Ila Lowe Kilpatrick; step-mother, Era Kilpatrick; sisters Elise Morgan, Bess Ratcliff, Doris Chapman; and brother Weldon Kilpatrick.

Funeral services for Marie Nipper will be in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, with Dr. C. Stewart Holloway officiating. Graveside services will be at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Macedonia, Arkansas, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Andrew Dreher, William Nipper, Matthew Nipper, Daniel Dreher, Chad Dumas, and Weldon Nipper.

The family would like to thank Marie's caregivers for all their help and support; Katrina Perkins, Charisma Perkins, Gloria Perkins, Anna Mims, and Dee Ford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Lecompte First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1070, Lecompte, LA 71346.
