Obituaries

Mrs. Oscar A. Becker, 1021 S. Spring St., former postmistress of the State Senate, died at 10:37 a.m. Friday at the Memorial Hospital.

Active in Republican women's organizations, Mrs. Becker was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was also a member of Chapter 218, Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Lillian F. Reazer, Mrs. Florence N. Bishop and Mrs. Edyth N. Reynolds, and one grandson, Richard T. Becker, all of Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Joseph H. Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Weddings.

Becker-Nickey - Married, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Nickey, No. 1429 East Capitol avenue, Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1897, at 7:30 o'clock, the Rev. E.B. Rogers, pastor of the Central Baptist church, officiating. Oscar A. Becker and Miss Margaret Nickey both of this city.

The residence was prettily decorated with beautiful flowers, swinging smilax and waving palms. The sweet strains of Mendelsshon's wedding march, rendered by Mrs. Max Borman, announced the bridal pair. The bride was attired in a pretty gown of tan covet, and was tastefully trimmed with brown braid and silk.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Becker and is the proprietor of the livery barn on Eighth street.

After the supper and receiving congratulations the newly wedded couple proceeded to their new home at No. 311 South Ninth street, where they will be home after Sept. 15.
