HIRAM MALSON
Hiram E. Malson, 85, former resident of Lakeside, Mont., died Monday in Flathead Health Center.

Mr. Malson was born in Gentry County, Mo., Aug. 11, 1889, a son of James and Matilda Malson. He attended school there, later moving to Rocky Ford, Alberta, Canada in 1913.

He was married to Roxy Pearl Anderson at Stanbury [sic-s/b Stanberry], Mo. in 1910. They wheat farmed at Rocky Ford from 1913 to 1949, when they moved to Ontario, Calif., to live. Mrs. Malson died in 1969 and he moved to Lakeside in 1970 to live with his daughter and her husband. For the past year he had made his home in Bigfork Convalescent Home.

While living in Canada, Mr. Malson was an active member of the Alberta Wheat Pool and the United Farmer's Association.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Kathryn) Dietrich, Lakeside; six sons, Harold and Calvin, both Kalispell, Eddie OLntario, Calif., Cecil, Chino, Calif., Ray, Garden Grove, Calif., and Eugene Malson, Norco, Calif.; his sister, Mrs. Etta Talmadge, Stanbury, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Weatherford Funeral Home with the Rev. Merrill J. Gray officiating. His remains will be forwarded to Ontario, Calif., for entombment in the Bellevue Mausoleum on Tuesday. Visitation hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
