Gwendolyn A. Aitchison, 96, of 314 34th Ave., East Moline, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at Heartland Healthcare Center, Moline.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at LaPrairie U.P. Cemetery, LaPrairie Center, Illinois.
Gwendolyn was born April 26, 1906, in Chillicothe, Illinois, to Charles and Lillian Carrier Carroll. She married George L. Aitchison Aug. 12, 1925, in Chillicothe. He preceded her in death in 1975.
She had been employed as an accounting clerk for the Rock Island Arsenal for 20 years, retiring in 1968.
Survivors (and spouses) include her daughters, Dorothy (Albert) Boehme, East Moline, and Carol Burton, Crestwood, Illinois; granddaughters, Judith (Ronald) Carlson, Donna (William) Muhr, Sandra (Robert) Quebbeman and Debra (Richard) Torpy; grandson, Larry (Debra) Carlson; great-granddaughters, Jennifer (Gregory) Borne, Nichole Carlson, Amanda (Adam) Ferguson, Jamie Torpy; great-grandsons, Ronald Carlson III, Josh Carlson, Ryan (Katie) Carlson, Kenneth Muhr, Kevin Muhr, Kristopher (Dena) Muhr, John Quebbeman and Brian Torpy; great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Borne and Dillon Borne; and niece, Betty Joyce Turner, California.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Wayne Burton, two sisters and one brother.
