Johnny was the husband of Carol M. Webb of Milwaukee Wisconsin and the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Webb of Vance Mississippi. In Vietnam he was assigned to and served with Company D, 2d Battalion, 47th Infantry, 3d Brigade, 9th Infantry Division.

On June 11, while travelling on Route 7, 2 kilometers east of Kh Dar in Srok Menut District Cambodia the convoy was ambushed. Three men were killed in the action and one of the casualties was PFC Johnny Webb.

PFC Webb was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with OLC and Purple Heart Medal
