Dies On Ninety-Fourth
Anniversay

Monday saw the passing of Col. Thomas A. Prather, Sr., Fulton county's oldest man and one of the two surviving Civil War Veterans of this community. The day likewise marked his ninety-fourth anniversary of his birth. Death came after several weeks of confinement to his bed due to the infirmities of age.

Funeral services were held from the Prather home near Sylvan Shade, at two o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Ollie James Sowell, pastor of the University Place Christian church of Oklahoma City, Okla., and the Rev. ??, pastor of the ? Christain Church of Hickman, officiating Musical selections wee furnished by a mixed quartette, accompanied by Mrs. John Porter. H. C. Barrett had charge of interment in the city cemetery on the Confederate gateway of which the deceased's name was long ago inscribed.

Pall bearers were: Dr. P.W. Prather, Edward Prather, Gus Prather, Andrew Burrus, Elvis J. Stahr and Drew Bacon.An extensive land owner and highly esteemed citizen, Mr. Prather was born in Jefferson County in 1844, and spent his entire life here. He was last
