Shirley Eloise Moore June 23, 1936 - September 18, 2014 - Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville, Texas Obituary

June 23, 1936 was a magical day in time as Shirley Eloise Moore was a gift bestowed upon this earth. Sadly, on September 18, 2014 a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend returned back to heaven accompanied by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

For the 78 wonderful years in between, many lives were touched along the way. Growing up in Samburg, Tennessee on Reelfoot Lake, Shirley relocated to Texas in her 30's to begin yet another chapter in her pursuits.

Her journey in life created countless memories with her love of family and independent accomplishments. As a successful businesswoman, she operated her own hair design studio for over 33 years. When she was not crocheting, knitting, or creating the perfect Halloween costume for her family, she loved to research the past and bring it to life in the present captivating her friends and family with stories to be handed down for generations.

One special hobby involved her fascination of genealogy research unlocking the connections among family legacies. An exceptional passion surrounding the mysteries of her childhood home, guided her to explore, analyze, document and publish an acclaimed non-fiction novel titled, Reelfoot Lake: A Night Rider's Legacy. Her second manuscript was recently completed awaiting publication.

Shirley is an inspiration to all who knew her and cherished every facet of the most treasured gift in life - family. She leaves behind her loving children Richard, Kathy, Tammy, Cheryl and Allana, along with nine grand children, twelve great-grandchildren and one precious great-great-grandchild. Shirley's strength and loving memory will live forever in the hearts of each person she touched along her creative path.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10:30AM in the chapel at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service from 9:30AM to 10:30AM. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery in Flower Mound.
