He served as a S/SGT in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He was a member of the Hemet Kiwanis Club , Sun City Kiwanis, and The Masonic Lodge. He was also an ordained Deacon of the First Southern Baptist Church of Hemet.. He was the proprietor of three Chevron Stations. He enjoyed golf, sports, riding horses and visiting his cabin in Beaver, Utah with his family.
