Businessman and last survivor of six brothers of entertainer Bob Hope. The other five were James, Ivor, Jack, Sidney and George. Fred Hope founded the United Provision Company, a wholesale meat operation, in Columbus in 1941. The business was expanded to Cleveland in 1945. In 1942 he was a founding member of the National Association of Meat Purveyors. He also owned the Pines, a motel and restaurant in Mount Gilead, Ohio. In addition to his famous brother, he was survived by his wife, LaRue Gibbons.
