Margaret Pipkin Coyle went to be with The Lord on August 27, 2014.

She was born to Philip Elwood Pipkin and Minnie Lee McKenzie on May 13, 1930, on the family farm, in the Bath community of Walker County.

Margaret is a descendent of John Wells, who resided in Walker County before October, 1850, and is a member of the First Families and Century Families of Walker County, Texas.

Margaret joins her husband, Howard Irl Coyle, in heaven.

She is survived by her four daughters, Susan and Larry Krueger of Wharton Texas, Ann and Tommy Parker of Clute Texas, Pam Coyle of Iowa Park, Texas, and Karen Bilsing of Huntsville Texas. She has eight grandchildren, Kim and Brent Williams, Christy and Porter Keller, William and Monica Parker, Philip Parker and Katrina Ratjen, C. J. Parker and Shelby Cooper, Marisa and Chris Carroll, Mack Campbell, Jessica Bilsing and her father Paul Bilsing. They have nine great-grandchildren, Hunter Williams, Addison, Porter, and Ruby Keller, Ami Parker, Iris and Jackson Parker, Maddi and Harper Carroll.

Margaret is survived by her sisters-in-law, Jo Etta Erwin and Lois Robinette (Bill); many nieces, nephews and extended family; and devoted caregiver, Elva Ferguson.

Margaret accepted Christ as her savior in the early 1940’s, when she was in the Junior Sunday School department, and was baptized by Brother H. M. Ward at First Baptist Church, Huntsville. She and her twin brother, Marvin, graduated from Huntsville High School in 1947 and attended Sam Houston State Teacher’s College.

While at SHSTC, Margaret met the love of her life, Howard Irl Coyle. They were each fraternal twins, joined the Twins Club, were active in the Baptist Student Union, and pursued a teaching degree. Margaret and Irl were married at First Baptist Church, Huntsville, on May 26, 1950. Margaret graduated from SHSTC with a Bachelor’s in Science in May 1951, and, while raising her family, she completed a Master’s in Education degree in 1958.

Margaret and Irl taught school in Bay City and other small communities in East Texas, before returning to Huntsville in 1977. Margaret taught 9th grade science her first year back in Huntsville, then taught at Gibbs Elementary and Sam Houston Elementary Schools, until retiring in 1984. Margaret was active in the Order of Eastern Star, American Auxiliary of University Women, Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired teachers, American Association of Retired Persons, and First Baptist Church. Margaret and Irl traveled throughout the United States and abroad, fostering a love of history and culture in their children and grandchildren.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Minnie Pipkin; sisters, Dorothy Sylvester and Helen Murphy; brothers, Bill Pipkin and Marvin Pipkin.

Interment followed services at Brooke Cemetery in Huntsville, Texas.
