Augustus C. Miller married Mary Ellen Mock. He was in 144th Ohio Infantry and Co. I 8th Ohio Calvalry in the Civil War. He and Mary Ellen had nine children, three of whom died in infancy. He had colorful personality and was very much loved.

The original photo was labeled by Mertie Catherine Miller Gabriel (A.C. Miller's daughter). However, the order was unclear. Known for sure is Augustus C. Miller and Mary Ellen Mock Miller. The order of the others are assumed. Back row, L to R:Deb Myers, Mary Ellen Mock Miller, Augustus C. MillerFront row, L to R: Lydia Furrow Myers, Elijah Furrow, Elizabeth Drake Furrow.All three couples were married Nov. 6, 1866 in Clark County, Ohio. Photo was taken by J. Coss, Main Street, "Over the Mad River National Bank", Springfield, Ohio.
