Enlisted 22 June 1861 in Richmond by Taylor for 1 year; In Soldier's Home Hospital 19 May 1862, return to duty 26 June 1862; issued a 15 day furrow to home in Pittsylvania County 13 Feb 1864; elected 2nd Lieutenant 1 July 1864; present Aug through Dec 1864; Absent Without Leave Feb 1865; captured at Sailor's Creek 6 Apr 1865; took oath at Johnson's Island, Ohio 30 June 1865; age 26; 5'11"; dark complexion; gray eyes, dark hair; alive in 1910.
