This information was sent to me many years ago by a cousin, now long-lost, Jack Moore, who was a professor in a local NJ college, retired, and returned to Georgia. You may be interested in this paragraph sent he sent to me:

"Christopher Irwin, Jr., "Kit" was born in Halifax County, Virginia, in 1790, married Martha Moore, born near present day Griffin, Spalding, Fayette, Henry, and Pike Counties, and Griffin is in that part formerly belonging to Pike. They had nine children: James, Sophronia, William, Isabella, Frank, John, Willis, David and Milton.

Christopher's parents moved to Wilkes County, Georgia, when he was a young child. After marriage, he and his wife farmed in Newton County, Georgia, then near Rosebud, also known as Old Chester, Walton County, Georgia, where they died - Christopher in the 1860's, and Martha died in the 1870's while living with her son John. They are buried in "unmarked graves" under a large tree by the back door of Haynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Rosebud, off Georgia State Highway 20, about 12 miles above Conyers. Records of this church show Martha (Moore) Irwin received into membership by experience on Saturday, May 14, 1842."

James Lorenzo Irwin was my Great Grandfather.
