She was born Nov. 1, 1900, in Oakville, the daughter of Edward and Ida Newell Johnston. Oct. 29, 1923, she married Arnold B. Gulick in Weaver. Mrs. Gulick was a member of Oak Street Baptist church and was clerk at the Des Moines county draft board for the past ten years.
Surviving: Three daughters, Mrs. Wesley Matlick, Mrs. Raymond Boyd and Mrs. Paul Nelson, all of Burlington; a sister, Miss Elsa Johnston of Milwaukee, Wis.; eight grandchildren, several nieces and one nephew.
Services: Wednesday 2 p.m. in Prugh's chapel, the Rev. Howard Johnson; Aspen Grove cemetery.
