Jo would meet her future husband, Robert Cearley when he was stationed in California by corresponding to military personnel. Through their letters, Jo fell in love with her "man from California" and they were married on December 24, 1955 in Bristow, Oklahoma.
Jo and Robert began their family in Oklahoma City, {Oklahoma], and moved to Tecumseh in the 1970's where they since lived.
Along with her husband, they owned and operated Robert's DX on the corner of Hwy 9 & Broadway in Tecumseh. She worked as an auto mechanic, U.S. Postal Truck Driver and as an Avon lady. Her CB Handle was "T-Town Mom".
Jo enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. Her kids referred to her as Daddy's Shadow because you never saw her without Daddy; they were always together. Jo loved her family very much, and enjoyed spending time with them; they were the focal point of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parent, Alvin Behar; daughter-in-law, Marlene Cearley; and brother-in-law, Larry Marshall.
Jo is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Robert C. Cearley of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Chris Hilditch of Shawnee, OK; two sons and daughter-in- law, Bobby Joe Cearley of Choctaw, OK and Kevin C. and Belinda G. Cearley of Tecumseh; four sisters: Opal Marshall, Christina and Blain Laughter, Adelaide Hardey and Alvina Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Linda Behar; 7 grandchildren, Jessica Hilditch, Sandon Hilditch, Tasha Cearley and Kenny Harris, Allona Cearley, Arran Cearley, Tarra and Jeff Shoemaker and Megan and Richard Harris; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
