Mr. Saracini, a resident of Lower Makefield Township, was piloting United Airlines Flight 175 when it was hijacked after it's takeoff from Boston. Mr. Saracini worked as a corporate pilot for Johnson & Johnson in Trenton, and was a Captain with the former Penn Commuter and the former Wings Airways, both in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation in 1975 from the New Mexico School of Mining and Technology with a Bachelor's degree in biology, Mr. Saracini joined the Navy's Aviation Officer Candidate School. He was commissioned as an ensign and received his Naval Flight Officer Wings in Pensacola, Fla., in 1976. Starting in 1980, Mr. Saracini served in the Naval Reserve at Willow Grove until his discharge as a Lieutenant in 1985. Mr. Saracini was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy "E" Ribbon, and Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. His hobbies included playing the guitar, boating, motorcycling and cooking.
