Mrs. Iva Benefield Denney passed away on February 2, 2020 and is now celebrating her new
heavenly home with her family, friends, and most of all her Savior. She was 99.

Mrs. Denney was born November 5, 1920 in Carroll County, Georgia to Nathan N. and Mae Huddleston Robinson. She lived in Carroll County all her life except for 12 years when she lived in Cleburne County, Alabama. She attended the High Point School through the seventh grade and graduated from the Bowdon High School in 1939. Later she earned a "Nurse's Aide" certificate from Carroll Area Technical College.

Mrs. Denney was a homemaker and worked 22 years for Warren Sewell Clothing Co. and several years for Stanley Home Products Co. She enjoyed gardening and delighted in helping others. Church was always a high priority in her life. She believed everything happened for a reason and that God did not make any mistakes. She volunteered at Tanner Medical Center one day a week for many years and considered it a privilege to help others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Hugh Benefield on August 15, 1989, whom she married May 25, 1940; her second husband, Garvey Melvin Denney on July 21, 2O11, whom she married March 5, 1993; her daughter, Lanell Todd; her son, Merrell Benefield; her sister, Helon Robinson Johnston; her brothers, Wayman, Frank, Inouch, and Henton Robinson.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Carole Benefield; her son-in-law Earl Todd; her step-son, Russell (Lisa) Denney; her sisters, Myrtle R. Hearn and Joyce R. Hope; her brothers, Walter, Hinston, and Charles Robinson; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Allen Denney Vaughn and Violette Harris Denney.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. (Georgia Time) at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ranburne, Alabama. Bro. Morgan Bailey will officiate. Pallbearers will be deacons from Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Prior to the services, her body will lie-in-state at the church from 12:00 p.m. (Georgia Time) till the funeral hour.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 4:00 till 7:00 p.m. (Georgia Time).
