CARBONDALE

The death of Mrs. John J. Emmett occurred, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at her home on Clarke avenue. The day before Christmas Mrs. Emmett gave birth to twins. complications arose which caused her death.

Deceased was born in Cornwall, England, in 1866 and removed with her parents to this country in 1868. On the 16th day of February, 1886, she became the wife of John Emmett, and has since that time reside in this city. Mrs. Emmett was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church. She had a wide circle of friends who sympathize most deeply with the heart broken family in their bereavement.

She is survived by her husband and eight children, namely: Joseph, Lelia, Harriett. Roy, Floyd, Ernest, Flora and an infant son 5 days old.

Her maiden name was Harriet A. Arthur, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Arthur, reside in this city.

She is also survived by six brothers and fie sisters, which are as follows: Charles H., Thomas, Nevil G., Frank and Samuel Arthur, of this city, and William Arthur, of New Orange, N.J.: Mrs. William Arthur, Mrs. Alfred Emmett and Miss Ella Arthur, of this city;: Mrs. Samuel Collins, of Prompton, and Mrs. A.L. Burdick, of New Orange, N.J.

The funeral service will be conducted tomorrow by Rev. A. F. Chaffee at her late home at 2:30 o'clock.

Interment will be made in Maplewood cemetery.
