I have seen her birthday listed in November also. Daughter of Hugh and Ursula (Knapp) McMullen. Siblings: Charlotte (Wilcox), Major, Fidelia (Pierce), Horace, Harvey and William. The family was raised in Onondaga County, New York but moved to Mercer County, Illinois in 1836.

Lydia married William Mahany 5 Mar 1837 probably in Mercer County, Illinois since that is where her family was living. Lydia and William had six children: Paulina Ann (Jackson), James Van Buren, John W, Baxter M, Marshall and Oliver. Census 1840-1860 has her living in Stark County, Illinois.
