Alexander Forrester was the son of Isaac and Matilda (Hodges) Forrester and the grandson of James Forrester who was one of the early pioneers of this area. In 1843, Alexander married Minerva Eaton and they had eight children. The Alexander Forrester homeplace still stands nearby on private property. It is a two-story house and a log barn surrounded by a rock wall three to four feet high.
