"Together Again"
Roy, UT-Leon passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Peachtree Place.
He was born October 6, 1924 to his parents Elizabeth Ann Neyler and Joseph Allen in Portage, Utah. He's the 9th of 10 children, all deceased. He served in World War II in the 101st Airborne Division as well as the Korean Conflict. He married Ivaloo Downs June 22, 1949. They lived in Roy, Utah; whereas Ivaloo; his love of his life had passed away June 20, 2007. Leon was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the church, the gospel of Jesus Christ and the scriptures. He was a hard worker; he worked at George A. Lowes and the Ogden Defense Depot. He had a green thumb and loved gardening and always had a wonderful vegetable garden. Leon had a special gift for making and keeping lifelong friends which was a blessing to many lives. He had a wonderful smile and twinkling blue eyes which was noticeable and special throughout his life. He lived a long and worthwhile life and we love and miss you Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa.
He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his three children: Luann (David L.) Evans, Douglas (Anita C.) Allen and Jill (David W.) Whipple, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to the magnificent and excellent Peachtree Place staff. Also the Hospice for Utah for their special care.
Dad, you treated us so kind and lovelingly.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy. A viewing will be held Sunday from 6 - 7:30 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Smithfield Cemetery -
