Gwendolyn "Gwen" (Stevens) Lynch, 76, of Maryville, Mo., died on July 20, 1994, at an Oak Park, Ill., hospital.
Mrs. Lynch was a retired registered nurse and served in the Army during World War II under Dr. Charles Mayo.
She also had assisted in starting the school of practical nursing at Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville.
A native of Sebeka, Minn., she had lived in Maryville since 1963. She attended high school in Rollingstone, Minn., and graduated from high school in Bemidji, Minn. Mrs. Lynch earned a nursing degree from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing, Rochester, Minn.
Mrs. Lynch was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Maryville, where she was active in St. Gregory's Guild.
In 1943, she married Francis "Frank" Lynch at Charleston, S.C. He preceded her in death.
Surviving: two daughters, Eileen Hernand, Guadalajara, Mexico, and July Lynch, Kansas City; a son, Dr. Brian, Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Jerldine Lund, Haysville, Kan., and Genevieve Sherlock, Maryville; and a grandchild.
