MONTICELLO - Josephine Sheets, 78, of 217-13 Fairington Court, Lafayette, died at 6:32 p.m. Thursday in Home Hospital, Lafayette. She was born Jan. 15, 1911, in Burnettsville to Rufus and Eleanor Cotner Burkett. She was married Oct. 30, 1931, in Monticello to Arthur Sheets, who died Aug. 2,1973.
She had lived in Lafayette 10 years, and had previously lived in Burnettsville and Monticello. She was a member of Burnettsville Christian Church. She had attended First Christian Church in Lafayette. She was a graduate of Burnettsville High School.
Surviving are three daughters, Jo Helen Krug, West Lafayette, Phyllis Wilson, Lafayette, and Lola Leasor, St. Marys, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A son, two brothers and two sisters preceded in death.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
