CONCORD ~ Ruby Johnston Dellinger, 93, passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at the Tucker Hospice House.
Mrs. Dellinger was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Cabarrus County to the late James Lee Johnston and Mary Rogers Johnston.
Ruby was married to the late Rex Dellinger who preceded her.
She was a lifelong member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church where she was active in the women's circle and church choir. She was a caregiver to many, especially to her mother, sister, and husband.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Dellinger (Bobbie), of Davidson; grandchildren, Garrett (Kristal) Dellinger, Jason Dellinger and Rebecca Dellinger; a great- grandson, Johnston Gavin Dellinger; and two special nieces, Mary Ann Livingston and Patsy Lawing.
Ruby was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 15, at Gilwood Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Alan Buckner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 14, at Whitley's Funeral Home.
