Stuart Eugene Kaegi, 85, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Newton to Clayton Christian and Erma Ina (Stuart) Kaegi. He was a 1948 graduate of Burrton High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Carey Salt Company. On June 20, 1951, Stuart married Betty Louise Jones in Wichita. She survives. Other survivors include: sons, Mike Kaegi and wife Sheila of South Hutchinson, Tim Kaegi and wife Marsha of Burrton, Kan., Mark Kaegi of South Hutchinson, and Clayton "Bud" Kaegi of Hutchinson; seven granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gial Kaegi and wife Marge of Derby.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, in Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge, with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Christian Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
