Marshall David Blake, 71 of Kurtz died a 11:15 p.m. Saturday at Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for two weeks.A World War II veteran , he retired in 1973 from the U.S. Forest Service in Brownstown. He moved to Jackson County in 1937.Born Aug. 5,1920 in Todd County Ky. He was the son of James David and Bettis Martin Blake. He married Leona Moore on November 21, 1941 in Jackson County. She survives.Other survivors include three sons, Marvin Blake and Billy Joe Blake both of Seymour, and Randy Blake of Seymour. A brother Clifton Blake of Rochelle, ILL. Two sisters Frances Hampton, Mount Vernon and Evelyn Vincent of Evansville. Eight Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by twin sons.The Tribune January 13,1992 Monday
