Miss Alberta C. Edell, 87, of Los Gatos, Calif, a native of Rome, died Monday in a Los Gatos hospital.
She was born March 15, 1889, daughter of Charles and Adeline Munz Edell.
Miss Edell graduated from Rome Free Academy and Barnard College. New York City She taught in district schools in Central New York and later became headmistress of St. Margaret's School, Waterbury Conn., where she remained until her retirement in 1948. She moved to Los Gatos after her retirement.
Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Esben (Rosemary) Jensen of Hollister, CA and Mrs. Lynn (Florence) Hoxie of Blossvale and a brother, Gerard M. Edell of Prattsburg.
Funeral services were held in Los Gatos and a prayer service will be held in Rathbunville Cemetery. Rome Daily Sentinel, Friday Evening, October 29, 1976
