Margaret was probably the daughter of William Anderson and Keziah Wiley. Some say she was the daughter of John Morris and Margaret Mundell because one book [The Mundell (Mundle) Family, by Ruby Mundell Barry, 1968 (found online at FamilySearch.org and on ancestry.com), pp. 17-18] said that Margaret Morris married a Richey and then gave the 1850 census for Albert M Richey and his wife Margaret. No proof was given for their marriage.

Evidence for the maiden name of Anderson:
1. The death certificates (found on ancestry.com) for three of the children of Alfred M and Margaret Richey say the maiden name of their mother was Margaret Anderson, as did the death index on ancestry for a fourth child.
2. One of their grandchildren was named Keziah.
3. Their son William was given the middle name of Anderson.
4. One of their daughters, Mary Ellen, married an Anderson (according to the estate settlement of her sister, Emeline).
5. William Anderson and Keziah Wiley did have a daughter named Margaret (according to census records).
6, Margaret and Alfred Richey were living very close to Margaret's sister (Ary Anderson Hathaway) according to the 1850 and 1860 census records.

Margaret married Albert before 1831, probably in Greene County, where they lived with their seven children: Emeline, Elizabeth, William Anderson, Samuel, Mary Ellen, Walter S, and Albert Franklin.

Her obituary from the Waynesburg Republican 30 January 1878:
Mrs. Margaret Ritchie [sic], wife of Albert M. Ritchie [sic] Esq., of Carmichaels, this county, died suddenly at her home on Tuesday last. On Saturday previous she was in usual health and had spent the day in visiting among her neighbors. But being attacked by a complaint of long standing and it being some time before the proper medical aid could be secured, she died as above stated. She was about 68 years old and was the mother of a large family of adult sons and daughters and was an amiable companion and a very clever and useful member of society. She will be mourned sadly by her aged and devoted husband, and children, and children's children, and by an entire community of acquaintances as well. It is said she suffered terribly for 24 hours previous to her death.
