Arnet J. Motteler, 86, Rock Island, died Tuesday in the Lake Chelan Community Hospital. Born in Washta, Iowa, Jan. 10, 1896, he came to Wenatchee with his parents when he was 6 years old. He attended Wenatchee schools and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1913. During World War I he served in the U.S. Army He moved to Ohio where he married Lucille Stratton in 1927 at Kent, Ohio. She preceded him in death in 1968. On Nov. 8, 1969, he married Florence Myers at Kent, Ohio. They returned to Grand Coulee to live in retirement. Four years ago he came to Rock Island. He was a member of the Rock Island Community Church, American Legion Post 157, Grand Coulee, Voiture 90, 40 et 8, and Coulee Dam Barracks 2009, Veterans of World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Florence, at home; three sons, William H. Motteler of Everett, David L. Motteler of Grand Coulee and Jay Arnet Motteler of Seattle; two daughters, Beverly Hicks of Seattle, and Emmarita Buckner of Grand Coulee; a brother, Earl V. Motteler, Leavenworth; three sisters, Mae Huling of Forks, Grace Whitley of East Wenatchee and Gladys Virgin of Chelan.

Arnet first married Lucille Stratton (1901-1968) 9/15/1927 in Ohio. They had 5 children together:
Beverly Motteler Hicks, William Henry Motteler, Emmarita Mae Motteler Buckner, David Llewellyn Motteler and Jay Arnett Motteler.
After the death of Lucille Arnet then married Lucille's sister Florence 11/8/1969 in Ohio
