She was born May 4, 1932, in Washington, a daughter of James R. and Violet Iverna Schultz Bissett.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a 1950 graduate of Trinity High School in Washington. She was a member of American Legion Post 175 Ladies Auxiliary and was a Seventh Degree member of Buffalo Grange 1523, where she had been a past lecturer.
Mrs. Johnson served on the election board for more than 20 years in North Franklin Township.
She was a member of Avery United Methodist Church, where she was a member and past president of its Methodist Women. She also had taught Sunday school. Mrs. Johnson participated in Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program for more than 20 years.
She was an avid reader.
On August 28, 1954, she married David W. Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving are a brother, James R. Bissett of Niles, Ohio; a sister, Mary Jane Mangini of Arnold; and five grandchildren, Stephanie Marie, Donna Lynn, Barbara Ann, Jessica Elizabeth and David W. III Johnson. A son, David W. Johnson Jr., is deceased.
