Lena Devin (Orlena Paralee) was born in 1912 in rural Swisher County, Texas to educator-stockfarmer Thomas Landon (Lanny) Devin 1877-1952 and Addie Belle Dickinson 1880-1955. She was the sixth of their ten children.

She married Louis Clyde (Louie) Allen and they lived in various places in Texas before settling in Dimmitt, Castro County. They are buried in the Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
