Andrew Bethel, 67 of 64
Chesterfield Ave., Warwick died
Monday night inn Veterans
Administration Hospital, Providence.
A lifelong resident of Warwick he
was the husband of Ellen (Ashworth)
Bethel.
Mr. Bethel was born in
Providence on August 14, 1895, the
son of the late Andrew and Eldora
(Cole) Bethel. In 1960 he retired
from the Davol Rubber Company,
Providence after working there for
44 years.
He served in the U.S. Coast
Guard Artillery in World War I, and
was a charter member of the William
Shields Post of the American Legion,
Warwick, a member of the Last
Mans Club of the Sheilds Post and
former member of the 40 and 8
Warwick Voiture. He was also a
member of the Old Warwick Grange
and the Woodbury Union
Presbyterian Church, Warwick.
Surviving besides his wife
are a stepson Irving Knight of
Warwick, a stepdaughter Mrs.
Miriam Sheldon of Warwick; a
brother David Bethel of Warwick;
two sisters Mrs. Etta Hall of
Warwick and Mrs. Corinne
Rienhardt; and four grandchildren.
A military funeral will be
held from the Moffett Funeral Home,
857 West Shore Road, Warwick
tomorrow with services in the
Woodbury Union Presbyterian
Church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in
New Pawtuxet Cemetery, Warwick.
