Daughter of Hiram Wilcox and Nellie Fuller Wilcox.

Joy was an organist at the Three Oaks Church of Christ.

Joy and her mother moved to Hastings, Nebraska in about 1903. There she met Elias J. Patton.

Wife of Elias J. Patton. They married on April 18, 1905 in Hastings, Nebraska. He was "a lather and paper hanger by trade."

She was the mother of Paul Wilcox Patton. "Paul Wilcox Patton is the name of the 10-pound boy who came to gladden the home and hearts of Mr and Mrs. E J. Patton, at 722 W. 5th St., Hastings, Neb., on Oct. 22. Mrs Patton was formerly Miss Joy Wilcox of Three Oaks."

Joy Patton was also the mother of a baby that died during childbirth.

Joy Patton died as a result of mitral heart disease and complications of childbirth.
