Alice was born on February 24, 1917, in the town of Naples, Buffalo County, Wis., to the late Bernt and Bertina (Ede) Eide. She attended Mondovi schools and graduated with the class of 1933. Alice was a graduate of UW-River Falls. She was proud to be a teacher of junior high school English for 45 years at schools in Unity and Hartford, and at Marshfield for the last 35 years of her career. Alice was a past member of Naples Church and currently a member of Central Lutheran Church. For 18 years, Alice was a volunteer and director at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. Her family will remember her in her later years for her love of scrapbooking.
Surviving Alice are her one sister, Eda Randall, of Madison; nieces and nephews, Beverly (Roger) Leonard of Eau Claire, Maurice (Donna) Eide of Mondovi, Sharon Lehman of Eau Claire, Joseph (Susan) Eide of Eau Claire, Karmen Teigen of Edgar, Darilee (Ronald) Nelson of Madison, Dugney (William) Prazak of Anchorage, Alaska, and Sue (John "Jack") Richgels of Madison; also, by many great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, three brothers, Myron, Thomas and Theodore Eide preceded Alice in death.
Funeral services for Alice will be held on Saturday, March 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi, with the Rev. Lowell Bolstad officiating. Burial will follow at Naples Cemetery.
Friends may call at Poeschel-Talbot Funeral Home in Mondovi from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 10, and again at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the services.
