Will Albers
Services were held Aug. 21 the St. Matthew Lutheran Church for Will Albers, 83. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. Harold L. Naig conducted the services. Mr. Albers died Aug. 18 at the John McDonald Hospital, Monticello after a brief illness. Will Albers was born near Langworthy on Sept. 24,1897. He was the son of Hillerich Albers and his wife, Anke Marie Weers Albers. He had received his early education near the place of his birth in the Jones County rural schools. Will Albers and Adeline Bohren were married on June 27, 1923 in the Peace Lutheran Church, Ryan. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Monticello area until 1947. Since then the Albers have lived in Monticello, and Mr. Albers was employed as a carpenter until his retirement. Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, Mr. Albers was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline, two daughters, Rosemarie, Mrs. Richard Anderson, Oakbrook, Ill.; Margaret Ann, Mrs. Norman Johnson, Bloomington, Ind. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four sisters and brothers, John Albers, Anamosa, Mrs. Margaret Folken, Springville, Herman Tieken, Monticello, and Elise, Mrs. Dietrick Dircks, Olin. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
