Mrs. Maud E. Herring, 94, of 1206 Capita; Ave., died Sunday June 11, 1978, at the Faxton Hospital.
She was born July 31, 1883, in West Branch, N.Y., daughter of the late Wesley and Lydia Williams Grems.
She was married to Rodger V. Herring November 16, 1904, in Delta, N.Y. He died in 1951. Mrs. Herring was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by six daughters, Miss Dorothy E. Herring and Miss Helen M. Herrig, both of Utica, Mrs. Lydia Lipphardt, Whitesboro, Mrs. Ross (Iona) Debbold, Clinton, Mrs. Michael (Gertrude) Kurtelawicz and Mrs. Walter A. (Betty) Roberts, both of Utica; four sons, Garfield A. Herring, Vernon; H. Dempster Herring of Floyd, Lynn W. Herring of Bridgeport, Conn. and Lyle R. Herring, Waterville; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
One son, J. Donald Herring, died in 1934.
Interment in Rathbunville Cemetery, Verona Mills, NY. Utica Daily Press, Monday June 12, 1978
