Margaret was 2nd born 10 children. She was married to William Smart from 1826-1828. They had one child Eliza Smart. She then married Samual Russel Freed and had 2 children, Sarah and Margaret Freed. In 1850 they were living in Marion Twp. Bever Co. Pennsylvania. In 1860 they were living in North Sewickley, Beaver Co. PA. After that and before the death of Samuel Freed on 10/3/1868 they had traveled by oxcart and covered wagon with other families to Michigan. Some of the boys out of 13 children Samuel had from previous marriage with Nancy Jones also traveled with them. After Samuels death there is some question of whether or not Margaret married into the Lytle family. (Her death certificate reads Margaret Freed and she had a niece Margaret Jane McQuiston that was married to a William Lytle) Added note: Nancy and Samuel's daughter Mary Ann Freed married Margaret's younger brother John McQuiston, making Margaret Mary's stepmother and her sister-in-law.
