Mr. Raymond George Avery

Mr. Raymond George Avery, age 82, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014 at his residence in Bell. Raymond was born on August 2, 1932 in Burke, New York to George Curtis Avery and Mildred Minnie Holmes. He moved to Bell in 1964 from Largo. He retired from the Gilchrist County School board and he was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Chursh.

He is preceded in death by a son, Melvin Avery, a sister, Marion Avery Reed and his brothers, Charles Avery and Myron Avery.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Akins Avery of Bell, a daughter, Donna (Robert) Ford of Lake City, 3 sons; Doug Avery of Tampa Bay, Michael (Diane) Avery of Bell, and Roy (Nickole) Avery of Bell, a sister, Betty Avery Thomas of Tarpon Springs; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Corbin and Pastor Archie Knowles officiating. Interment was at Bell Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements were under the care of Watson Funeral Home, Trenton, FL 32693, (352) 463-8888.
