George W. Thompson , 75, of 11104 Farmington Road died Saturday, April 24, 1993, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Oct. 4, 1917, in Edwards to James and Amelia Kirkman Thompson , he married Eileen DeVries on April 29, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Steven, Roger and Michael, all of Hanna City; one daughter, Judy Bird of San Antonio, Texas; and one sister, Treva Doubet of Hanna City. He was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.

He was a wire draftman for Keystone Steel & Wire Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1973. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Oak Hill.
