R. Frank Mudd, aged 69 years, a resident of the valley for 45 years, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head about 10 o'clock this morning. When he got up this morning, he complained of a terrific pain in the head and that his stomach hurt him. He was born in Rawles County, Missouri, and would have been 70 years old on September 28.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marie Mudd, and the following children: Frank Mudd, Jr., Mrs. Joe Cimball, Mrs. Vincent Watts, Mrs. Oscar McDaniels, Mrs. Ed Hollingberry, Mrs. Susie Twilligear, Mrs. Claude Candler, Mrs. Sadie Douglas, Joe [Josephine] Mudd, Miss Catherine Mudd, and Miss Clara Mudd. [Daughter Margaret was not mentioned]. He also leaves the following stepchildren: Fred Sparling, Gladys Pennick, Marie Geisler and Albert Sparling. He also leaves three brothers, Ed, Lee, and George.

He was well known in the valley and had resided on RFD, No. 2 for many years.
