Squire Holman Dead

After an illness with kidney trouble, lasting with more or less severity for a period of 14 years, Squire P. Holman died at his home near Hartford Sunday night, August 22nd. The funeral services were held Tuesday and the remains were laid to rest in the Thompson cemetery.

Mr. Holman was a native Missourian and was born in Macon county, MO. He came to Putnam County over 21 years ago and has always been of its most respected and reliable citizens. He was married in 1871 to Miss Catherine Cook and to this union three of the number of children preceded him in death. Dora 22, Casper 20, and Maggie 16 survive.

S.P. Holman was a life long democrat. In 1883 in the mercantile business in Hartford and under the last administration was appointed postmaster at that place.
