Paul Creek, 89, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Landsun Homes.
There will be no visitation, cremation will take place.
A Memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Prell officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Paul Creek was born December 17, 1924 in Portales, New Mexico to Harve and Martha (Smith) Creek. He joined the Navy in November of 1942 where he attended torpedo school and then served on the USS Silversides and USS Sary during WWII. He was honorably discharged in January 1946. Paul attended Eastern New Mexico College in Portales, NM where he met and married Barbara Durham on September 15, 1946. Paul became a banker in 1947 and retired at the age of 62 from United New Mexico Bank. He married Mary Bird on May 19, 1993 in Carlsbad, NM. Paul enjoyed golfing and continued to golf until he was into his 80’s. He was a member of Blodgett Street Baptist Church. Paul was very extraordinarily kind, generous, sweet and had a big heart. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife of 45 years, Barbara Lee Creek; son, Ronald Paul Creek; step-son, Mel McClure; sisters: Lillie, Juanita, Winnie and brothers: Harv Creek and Leroy Creek.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mary Creek of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Carolyn Holder of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Leroy Creek of Farmington, NM; step-children: Ann Fine and husband, Keith of Carlsbad, NM, David Jones of El Paso, TX, Deborah Jones of El Paso, TX, Ross Bailey of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Tamara Pierce and husband, Mike of McKinney, TX, Beth Brooks and husband, Mike of McKinney, TX, Jennifer Holder of Little Elm, TX, Lee Holder of Portales, NM; step-grandchildren: Tonya Wright and husband, Ryan of Stockton, CA, Brett Fine of Farmington, NM, Angie Jones and husband, Herb of Ione, CA, Jessica Onan and husband, Ryan of Farmington, NM, Brianna Jones of Seattle, WA, Tasha Garcia and husband, Matt of Phoenix, AZ, Kaitlin Bailey of Farmington, NM and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
