Mary Ellen Miles Wafflard, age 78 of Wintergarden, Florida, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Health Center Hospital in Ocoee, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville, with Rev. James Quick officiating. Interment will follow in Campground Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until service time at Donnell-Wiegand.
Mary Ellen Miles, the daughter of Elmer Nelson Miles and Ida Rosine Ray Miles, was born on April 1, 1936 near Pocahontas, Illinois. She grew up there and attended the Pocahontas Schools and graduated from Pocahontas High School.
Mary Ellen and Leone Joshua Wafflard were united in marriage on March 23, 1954 in Lincoln, Illinois and have enjoyed over 60 years together. He survives as do their two children: Mark Wafflard of Wintergarden, and Barbara (Russ) Alter of Apopka, Florida, and one grandson Travis Alter. Mary Ellen was one of 6 Miles children and is survived by her last brother Eugene (Donna) Miles of Lincoln, Illinois. Mary Ellen and Leone lived in Chicago where Leone received schooling then moved to Orlando, Florida early in their marriage where they raised their children and Mary Ellen looked after their mobile home park and rentals in Ocoee. They have made their home in Wintergarden, Florida for many years.
Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, sister Maxine Jenner Beavers, and brothers Gerald C. Miles, Eldon Miles and Robert F. Miles.
