SHERIDAN, Wyo. - U.S. Navy Veteran Richard Dean Smith's battle was over the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at his home away from home, the Sheridan VA Hospital, where he had the most dedicated and loving care from the Staff.

Dean, 62, graduated from Billings Senior High School and Billings Automotive College. He worked at the Yellowstone Boys Ranch, as well as other jobs. His love of country and family was always evident. He was a caring, thoughtful and generous son, brother and uncle. We shall miss his daily phone calls.
