Charlotte D. Arnold, 87, of Athens, Pa., passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on August 29, 1927 in Wyalusing, Pa., the daughter of the late Horace F. and Viola Sink Dunham.

Charlotte was a 75-year member of the Athens United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, charter member of the Lioness and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was selected as the First Woman of the Year in the Valley. Charlotte was very proud to be the last graduating class of the Nurse Cadet Corps in 1948. She worked many years as a nurse and was passionate about her job. Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She is predeceased by her husband Harry I. Arnold in 1987.

Charlotte is survived by her children Mary and Dean Peters of Cave Creek, Ariz., David and Gail Arnold of Athens, Pa.; grandchildren Patrick and Liz Morningstar of Chesterfield, Mo., Michael and Mary Morningstar of State College, Pa., Damon Arnold of Houston, Tex., Rachel Arnold of West Reading, Pa., Dylan Arnold of Athens, Pa.; great-grandchildren Ethan Morningstar, Grace Morningstar, Matthew Morningstar, Samuel Morningstar, Clara Morningstar, Levi Morningstar, Roman Morningstar, Tyler Peters, and Trevor Welch.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Athens United Methodist Church at 118 South Main Street, Athens, Pa. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the Athens United Methodist Church with the Rev. Andrew Weidner officiating.

Burial will be at the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pa. at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made in Charlotte's memory to the: Athens United Methodist Church at 118 South Main Street, Athens, PA 18810 and/or the Spalding Memorial Library at 724 South Main Street # 1, Athens, PA 18810.
