VALLEY - Mrs. Helen A. Smith, 90, of Valley died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Lanier Nursing Home in Valley.
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Rusty Letson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lanett.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, Jerry (Pat) Smith of Lanett, Ronnie (Cora) Smith and Tony (Gina) Smith, both of Beulah, and Harvey (Janice) Smith of Valley; 19 grandchildren; a host of greatgrandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, James Guy Smith.
Born June 3, 1922 in LaGrange, Mrs. Smith loved working in the Langdale Mill Spinning Room, where she worked for more than 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and quilting. Mrs. Smith was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce O. Smith; and three grandchildren, Holly Polston, Amanda Polston and Bradley Mark Smith.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
