He grew up in Myrtle Creek where he attended elementary school and high school later moving to Grants Pass where he completed and received his GED at the age of 16.

He worked for Houser Logging in Springfield, Oregon as a logger. He loved the life of a logger and the crew he worked with. He enjoyed working with his hands and being outdoors.

Terry passed away due to a single motor vehicle accident on Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. He resided in Winchester, Douglas Co., Oregon.

He is survived by his son, Austin Troy Garland of Silverton, Oregon; father, Billy Joe Ackroyd of Winchester, Oregon; mother, Echo Delight Kuenstler of Rogue River, Oregon; step-father, John Edward Kuenstler of Rogue River, Oregon; sister, Mistie Lee Ackroyd-Vespoli of Salt Lake City, Utah; step-sisters, Stacy Ann Zeutzius of Grants Pass, Oregon, Jacquelyn Towne of Grants Pass, Oregon and Jennifer Kuenstler of Grants Pass, Oregon; brother, Mike Kuenstler of Wimer, Oregon; grandmother, Ida Jo Ackroyd of Winchester, Oregon and grandparents, Dorney & Joann Pearson of Myrtle Creek, Oregon and numerous aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Joe Ackroyd, II on July 18, 1978; sister, Scarlet Delight O’Hara Ackroyd on December 26, 2007; Grandfather, Terry Ackroyd on January 31, 2009; grandmas, Ellen Pearson on July 14, 1967 & Mable Pearson.

A Celebration of Life will held Monday, September 8, 2014, 11:00 AM at Stephens Family Chapel. A committal service will follow at the Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River, Oregon.
