84, of Phoenix went to his heavenly home on August 26, 2014. He was born September 2, 1929 to Bert and Bertha Pippett in Kingsley, Iowa. The youngest of 10 children all deceased. Joe is survived by his wife, Laverne; 4 children, daughter
Evelyn and sons Rick (deceased), Tony (deceased), and Bob and 3 stepsons Steve, Jeff (deceased) and Robert; 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Joe is a veteran who served in the Old Army Air Corps, followed by the United States Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant during WWII and the Korean War. He was a successful salesman working for Pingree/Teague Equipment Company designing and
sell ing bucket trucks. Joe was a member of North Phoenix Baptist Church where he was baptized and served as a greeter and usher for 32 years. A memorial service will be on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:00 am at North Phoenix Baptist Church, 5757 N. Central Ave, Phoenix AZ 85012. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ. Service for that will be on Monday September 29, 2014 at 9:30 am. Arrangements provided by Best Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors organization. He will forever be missed. ARIZONA REPUBLIC 7 SEPT 2014
