James G. "Mike" Brown, 86, St. Joseph, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Brown was a teamster truck driver for 15 years. He also was employed in the home improvement business for 10 years.
Born in St. Joseph on Feb. 9, 1915, he was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph.
Mr. Brown was a graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph and served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the King Hill Baptist Church, St. Joseph; and Teamster's Union Local.
On Nov. 7, 1941, he married Winona Albertson in Wamego, Kan. She survives of the home.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian.
Additional survivors: two sons, Michael J., St. Joseph, and Jon P., New Caney, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph. The body has been cremated. Inurnment: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Family visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hands of Hope Hospice in St. Joseph or a charity of the donor's choice.
