Mary Kate Christian, 71, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at her home in Dublin. She was a member of Newbern Church of God and retired from Inland Motors. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hayes Adkins, her parents, Willie Carson and Dana Salyers Burke, brothers and sisters, Mike Burke, Agnes Powers, Margaret Martin, Eva Tolbart and Willie "Buster" Burke. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony Ray and Monique Adkins of Pulaski, Robert Lee and Melody Adkins of China Grove, NC, Randolph Lynn and Diana K. Adkins of Parrott, and Gene Allen and Billie Adkins of Fairlawn; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Emogene McPeak of Pulaski; special friends Judy Gregory and Geneva Lundy; special nieces Connie Manual and Charlotte Jones; and numerous other nieces and nephews. A visitation and memorial service will be held Monday, June 3, 2013 between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm at the Newbern Church of God. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Newbern Church of God Seniors Group. The Adkins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
